Hidden in between tall buildings
and old grimy houses,
stands a castle.
Reminiscent of Narnia
in my child mind.
Wooden bridges,
escape ways,
and tire swings.
Endless possibilities.
Now I look upon my beloved castle
with adult eyes.
Eyes that can no longer see the magic,
of what this place used to be.
Such a small little land,
with no treasures I can see.
A castle,
weather beaten and worn,
standing among the rest.
But my unimaginative eyes
cannot conquer,
the kid in my heart
who remembers
the laughter and happiness,
of a land that use to be.
